Hello everyone! My name is Katie Sveinson and I am an assistant professor in the School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (STHM) at Temple University in Philadelphia.
My research usually combines sport management and sociology of sport. My research area focuses on sport consumer behaviour. Specifically, I look to investigate sport fandom from gender, culture, behaviour, and identity-based perspectives. My interest in this area has stemmed from my own fandom, as I am a highly identified fan of the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack Go).
Being a fan since the age of 12, as well as being geographically distant from my team and female, have lead to a variety of experiences for me. It is the observations that I notice during my own experiences that often become the central focus for my research. If you would like to read more about my research, you can head over to the research and publications section. To explore the outcomes of my research, please visit the research findings page.
Please feel free to roam about my website, follow me on Twitter, and send me an email if you have any questions, inquiries, collaboration topics, or just to say hi!
